ANNE ROCHELL KONIGSMARK

Anne is an award-winning journalist with more than fifteen years of experience as a staff writer at newspapers and as a freelancer. She has published stories and essays in a variety of publications, from National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” to USA Today (as a staff writer). She began her career in 1991 atThe Anniston Star in northeast Alabama. She went on to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the San Jose Mercury News. Her reporting career culminated in New Orleans, where she was bureau chief for USA Today following Hurricane Katrina. Anne is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA - English, 1989), and New York University (MA-Journalism, 1992). She is the recipient of multiple local and national journalism awards. Her podcast, Cocktail Party Takeaways, began in 2021 and has garnered thousands of listens. Anne's day job is education: She teaches high school English at an independent school in Atlanta, Georgia, and Story Design at Georgia State University's Creative Media Industries Institute. Just beginning her fiction career, Anne's first published short story appeared in Deep South in 2021. She is at work on her first novel.
